DFW Property Management Experts : The Meanings of Various Color Hues

Most landlords and professionals involved in DFW property management stick with white, tan, or light grey when it comes time to choose their color palettes' principle shades. The trend is to choose bright accent colors in small areas, such as window and door frames, apartment entrances, and window treatments. Below are the generally accepted psychological meanings of various color hues.

The Psychological Meanings of Various Colors

Blue evokes a feeling of stability and success in the eyes of most viewers.

Red brings an immediate ambience of power and passion.

Purple demonstrates an artistic bent, as well as a sense of the unusual. Purple is also very often associated with the word "royal", and there is solid psychological evidence for that.

Yellow can cheer up any area in which it is featured. Contrary to the cerebral interpretation of cowardice, yellow more often makes people feel sunny.

Orange provides a zesty atmosphere full of life and vigor.

Brown, especially in the form of wood or the new wood lookalike materials, provides a sense of the classic and the natural.

White, used as an accent color in areas such as shutters surrounded by brick walls, evinces a positive feeling, combined with a clean, clear-cut, simple ambience.

Black makes a statement, wherever it is employed. Used sparingly, it projects a convincing sense of dignity and authority, rather than darkness and negativity.

Grey is an extremely calm, neutral hue, good for covering large expanses as a background to brighter accent colors.
